New city

Well it's been like three days since we moved to Woodridge. So far I have discovered that having ComCast is a pain in the ass because we can never seem to have cable, phone, and internet all working at the same time. Hopefully someone will actually show up and fix it today. I have also discovered that I despise geese more than anything. They roam around here because there is a pond and trees and everything and they scare the shit out of me. I'm afraid to piss one off accidentally because those suckers are mean!

Tomorrow I have a second interview set up at this place in Chicago. The first interview went super well and I really think I have a good shot at this job. It's an HR Assistant and there is tons of growth and learning opportunity which is something I am really looking for. The company itself is a nonprofit org. that helps to provide communities with substance abuse treatment. It's a great organization and a great location-about a block from Michigan Avenue-some of the best shopping in the country! I would have to commute on the train every day and walk about a mile from Union Station to the office, but it'd be good exercise!

Nick and I went and opened a joint checking account yesterday. I felt so old and grown up lol! I can't believe I'm turning 23 in less than two weeks! Craziness!

Sickly

It never fails. This time of year I always get sick. Usually it's closer to my birthday so hopefully I'll get lucky this year and be healthy for my bday (which is only like 2 weeks away!). I'm pretty sure that I caught the flu/cold that Nick's dad was suffering from when we went to visit this weekend. It started yesterday morning with a horrendus sinus headache. I even went to Walgreens to get the good Sudafed that you have to get from behind the counter with your ID and everything. (the subsititution shit sucks!) I had a horrible night's sleep last night, and woke up with a fever this morning. That's how I knew it was bad, because I never get a fever. Normally my temp is like 97.5 which is a little below avg....earlier it was 100.3 yikes! But it is slowly reducing and i finally have my appetite back. I can also sit up for longer than 2 minutes and not feel sick. I just hope we can get everything done and ready for the move in time for Saturday. Not that I will be much help...I cant lift anything because my back sucks, and if I'm still feeling puny I'll probably just sit there telling people what to do lol. I think I can handle that though.

On an ending note, WTF America? Do you not realize that Sanjaya SUCKS!!! He needs to go! I dont know how much longer I can stand to watch him each week on Idol.

Alright so I have to say I am a little perturbed at the top 12 picked on American Idol. I feel I have somewhat of a right to complain, seeing as how I did vote. The people I voted for made it though. I guess next time I will just have to vote for every single person I like and not the ones I dont like.

2. Gina Glocksen--like her...she's fun
3. Brandon Rogers--hes alright...not my favorite but he's decent
4. Chris Richardson--love him! he has the looks and the talent-i hope he goes far
5. Haley Scarnato--does not deserve to be there...I think she has made it through on looks alone which is very sad
6. Jordin Sparks--cute, good singer, she's alright
7. Chris Sligh--love him!
8. Lakisha Jones--love her...i'm still picking her to win it all!
9. Melinda Doolitle--she's awesome!
10. Phil Stacey--he's ok...he needs to work on the singing
11. Stephanie Edwards--she's pretty good
12. Sanjaya Malakar--wtf America?? you picked him over Sundance? granted I did not vote for Sundance because he wasnt one of my favorites, but still. Sanjaya should have been out a LONG time ago!

So basically, I just want to say that it is a singing competition. Some of the people put through are far worse singers than others who were kicked off, and the only reason they are put through is looks. Look at Antonella (thank god she was finally kicked off)-she was by far the worst singer out of the whole group, yet she made it that far because she's good looking. Not cool America...not cool.

Job hunt

Just wanted to give everyone a little update on the job hunt. Last weeks interviews were busts. This week I went to a temp agency in Oak Brook looking for work so maybe something will happen with that. Yesterday I had a phone interview-it went alright I guess. I'm not getting my hopes up. I would have to go through 8 weeks of training in Texas for this job and it sounds like a great opportunity but who knows. I called JC Penney today and apparently they have a new store opening up in Woodridge which is where we applied for an apartment. But it doesnt open till May. And apparently this morning there wasn't anyone there who could tell me anything so I have to call back later today. So basically I have no money to pay for my bills this month and I'm freaking out. I just want to be settled in one place with a nice job and a decent salary. Is that really so much to ask? I mean I went through four freaking years of college and for what? To sit around all day watching TV while my fiance works and has to pay for my stuff? I cant do this much longer.....

Crazy

Things are a little crazy around here latley. Nick was offered the job in Oak Brook so we are moving back to Illinois! We went apartment hunting today and put in an application at one place so hopefully everything goes well and we can move in in a couple weeks. Our only problem is we cannot get out of our lease here in Indiana unless we find someone to sublease the place. Which means we could potentially be paying rent on a place we aren't even living in until October. So basically I need to get myself a job no matter what it is. This plast week was hell. I went on 2 interviews and they turned out to be sales jobs. I had to spend 2 days of my life observing people trying to sell other people stuff. It was not fun. Anyway, my friend Becky told me about a good temp agency that got her a decent job so I'm going to check that out this week. And I always have JC Penney to fall back on. I guess there is a Macy's opening up down the road from the place we looked at today too.

On another note, I'm sick of snow. I want spring to be here now. My mom and Bart are in Hawaii right now enjoying the beach and the sun and I hate them. Blah......
